An example of a paired recording used to study the molecular layer interneuron (red)  to Purkinje cell (green)  synapse in the cerebellum. The molecular layer interneuron was stimulated to fire an action potential (red) and an inhibitory synaptic current was recorded in the postsynaptic Purkinje cell (green).  The synaptic current was blocked by the GABAA receptor antagonist gabazine.
